Film is starting with an event occurred in South India in 12th century, that is during Chola dynasty. Neither Islam nor Christianity entered into India that time. Only Hinduism dominated all over India. Since they don’t have a common enemy they started to fight within them self. Kamal acts as an energetic youth who challenge the religious view of the King, Kulotunga Chola.
Later story shifts to 20th century, where another Kamal (Govind) working as a microbiologist and he works for US government. He works on a bio weapon that can bring massive distruction to the world. Then some people to steal the bio weapon and our hero trying to save it. In his effort to save the weapon falling to bad people, he mistakenly came to India by a courier plane.
Story goes on like this. I’m not so happy with the story. In my point of view it’s very weak. But Kamal’s acting was outstanding and awesome. If he happens to start his career in Hollywood, he must have been a Tom Hangs by now. His ten roles including priest, pop singer, George bush, Fletcher, chief of Raw, social activist, old lady is nicely differentiated and some time you won’t feel that same actor playing several roles in the screen.
Computer graphics is not that much good. They could have taken good professionals to do the graphic works also make-up should also have improved.
Go to theater watch it, but don’t go with higher expectations. If you go with higher expectations you’ll say that my favorite star Kamal let me down. It’s indeed a good movie for entertainment but it could have been better.

Just watched it in theatre. I don’t have much problem with the story line. But it has some holes and fluctuates between being a comedy and an action thriller. The prelude 12th century story seems to be forced into the movie, despite being well made. (BTW, I want to point out that the fight was between Vaishnavam and Saivaism)
Graphics sometimes seriously sucks. For example, in the boards on the river scenes, the boards and surroundings are out of proportion and ripples and splashes in the stream are mediocre. In some double acting scenes one of the characters go real blurry. On the other hand, some other graphics are quite good, like the climax ocean scene.
Kamal does a pretty good job in the ten different roles, but as mentioned about make ups are not great, especially the roles that needed extra face paddings (Fletcher, Bush, the tall Muslim, and the Japanese Judo master.) The face padding completely hides Kamal’s facial expressions, giving a feeling of Kamal wearing masks. But other roles are excellent (especially the head of the RAW character.)
Action sequences are pretty good, especially the last Karate fight – the best hand-to-hand compact I ever saw in a Tamil movie. Car chasing scenes are good too, but a lot to improve. Kamal still has to learn multiple camera/camera angle film making.
One question, was there a Vishnu statue found in the beach after Tsunami?
