Recently people started to send me email saying that Dialog’s iPhone page is missing. I went ahead and checked it. Yep, they have removed it.
I wonder why? Possible reasons are legal problems or may be they want to re-consider the price of the phone as its too expensive for most of the Sri Lankans.
Hope Dialog will come with a better idea for the iPhone deal. I can’t wait to get my hands on iPhone, even though I can’t afford it

@Anuradha
mmm… Still wondering why???

@Mayooresan
Nope. Do you have any clue?
By the way, the announcement page is still available on Google cache if you type the full URL as the search term.

@Anuradha
Nope! probably a legal issue!
As you said Cache is still available with google 🙂
Misnad says
It is actually due to legal reasons. They could be sued by Apple since they aren’t the official distributors for iPhones in SL. Genuine dealers in the iPhone business are carriers listed by Apple as partners offerring the iPhone with a contract or sim free like in HK, where laws dictate that a phone cannot be locked to a single comms provider.
You can still see the iPhone in their plans section listed as 91k. Pure desperation and ridiculous effort from Dialog..

As far as i know Misnad is crt.. this was a move by Dialog wat i guess is to have the Pioneers for iPhone tag, which they always boast about “Pioneers”
Something might have got screwed this time around coz of the haste by Dialog in bringing down the unit before Airtel does….

What happened to that “Another first from Dialog”. I’m really sorry for those fucknuts.
I still see iPhone 3G on Dialog plans page & yes as anuradha said that original post is in Googles cache :D.

Still there are NO authorized iPhone dealers in SriLanka, Dialog is not authorized even. So they cannot sell iPhones in public. It must have been the reason they removed. It’s sure. DMS is the only Apple representatives currently and they also do not sell iPhones yet.
