Japan, China, Singapore, these are the three nations that I admire in Asia along with India. These are the nations that showed the world, what Asians can do? We can do better than you! Singapore is a tiny nation which is rejected by Malaysia, but now today it is one of the most powerful economies in the world. It’s showing the courage and willingness and commitment of Singaporeans. In the other hand Japan, as we all know, developed into a developed nation after the devastating World War II.
India is another nation which is a role model for accepting and enjoying the diversity. I know there are some ethnical issues in India, but compare to countries like Sri Lanka they are far far better.
China is one of the super powers in our region and has the potential to challenge any nation in the world. Especially Chinese authorities have a good relationship with Sri Lankan government. Even during Indo-china war Sri Lankan government supported Chinese. I always admired this nation, and its Iron ruling policy. I talked with many Chinese people. They all say “I have no issues living it China. I have everything and I’m fine out there. I like Chinese government”.
So it seems that Chinese people like the government but not the western authorities.
These days burning issue in CNN and BBC is the riots in Tibet. What is actually happening in Tibet? I was reading several materials and I found that china invaded this small nation. The leader Dalai Lama has flown to India. New Delhi welcomed him with two hands.
Now Chinese government blaming that Dalai Lama is directing the riots in Tibet using his cliques. Also Chinese government saying that for the unity of China, Taiwan and Tibet is important for them. Still china has no influence in Taiwan. Taiwan which is enjoying the company of USA is so far safe from super power China. Here my point is, if set of people or an ethnic group doesn’t want to live with the mother nation then what is the point of keeping them using control? It will lead to the development of up going riots.
TIBET SHOULD BE A FREE INDEPENDENT NATION

I don’t think what Dalai Lama ask for Tibet is not fully Independence. As far as I know, he is willing to give political power to the China and he want Tibet people to engage in their culture (or not). And I heard few times Dalai Lama said lot of good things happened to Tibet because of China too. As far as I know what he is asking is “Democracy”, which very rear commodity in China anyway.
Before the dot.com boom, before the iron market boom, there was colonization boom. All western “boom” ends up in Asia, Japanese army went around acquiring countries all around, India also grab some islands around and put great effect to grab Sri Lanka too, and china also grabbed few. That boom is over long time back, and lot of those countries accepted their fates but some do not. China still behaves exactly like how Britain and Spain did back in the days. It is shameful.
I met few North Korean people; they said their president (who is dead by the way) and N. Korean leader (who is the son of the dead president) is fine and he developed the country a lot. I guess deferent people have deferent values.
I don’t think Tibet’s main issue is ethnicity or Independence – it is about freedom?

Try harder next time by actually using the full capacity of intellectual ability and compile an eloquent, pleasant to read article. Then I shall CONSIDER purchasing your drink.

Hey chill out, so you wanna bribe me to write something huh? That’s funny, as a matter of fact after the independence ethnic groups were mistreated in Sri Lanka, but in India proper actions were taken to minimize the problems. In India, each and every ethnic group have their state government and they are very loyal to the central government, where in Sri Lanka central government is the super power, which doesn’t like to share the power with minorities

Sam, thanks for the comment. May be China should give some freedom to Tibet, but in reality, there is a ego problem and china won’t do that. So sad!
