Today I upgraded my wordpress blogs to version 2.5 from 2.3.3. First I upgraded my English blog and checked the blog, no probs, so I decided to upgrade my Tamil blog as well.
Once the upgrading of Tamil blog is done I checked the home page, there is a warning error message.
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/mayuonli/public_html/blog/wp-includes/classes.php on line 92
I was lost and I can’t figure out a reason for this error message, for above all same error message was displayed in admin panel as well. If it’s a theme related issue then it won’t be making error message in Admin panel rite? (but it’s not true!!!)
I was making requests in wordpress.org forums, but no one seems to be helping me out. I myself decided to revert it back to 2.3.3
I removed the contents of the installed WordPress folder and then uploaded the back up. Later I restored the database as well.
Then I try to access my home page at http://mayuonline.com/blog, there it asked me to install a new instance of a wordpress. As it requested I installed the new instance and I found that I lost my incoming links.
To correct the incoming links problem, I changed the permalink structure back to earlier style. Oops, I got my Blog back but its still 2.3.3.
Later I talked with Ravi via gtalk and found that the previous error message was a result of an unsupported theme.
The theme I was using in my English blog is compatible with WordPress 2.5 while the theme that I used in my Tamil blog was not compatible with WordPress 2.5
I changed the theme and upgraded to WordPress 2.5, Now it’s working like nothing.. so cool.
Whenever you encounter a problem in WordPress don’t panic as I panicked. Go to google.com and do a googling with the error message, most probably you’ll find an answer online, else go to wordpress support and make a request. Still you can’t find an answer, then ask from an existing WordPress user.
Don’t ever mess up everything and think too much technically as I did. There are always simple solutions available for the WordPress problems. I’ll continue to love this amazing blogging platform!!!

mayu, simple troubleshooting rule is to disable all plugins and revert to default theme. Having Pretty permalinks also helps if u switch to new database / export articles. Because, in new database ur post ids might change and break the links.
Mayooresan says
Yes,
Exactly ravi, but if we gonna restore the database, post ids going to be same rite!!
ravishankar says
ya, if u restore ids should be same.

@Aneslin
I can’t understand your problem.
I have a Tamil Blog and I can use Tamil. No such issues.
If you can come online in gtalk I may help you.
